Stephen — Siberian Raccoon
Based in Chamonix, Stephen is the team's stargazer: he introduces astronomy during bivouacs and expeditions across the Alps, Jura, and Pyrenees.
Stephen is the kind of Captain who can read a starmap as easily as a mountain trail. Based in Chamonix, he takes both young and old on adventures to look up, slow down a little, and put some stars back in our nights.
Through bivouacs, evenings, expeditions, and even documentaries, he introduces groups to astronomy with a simple, vibrant, and passionate approach. Stephen is something of the stargazer of the crew: the one who makes you fall in love with the night for reasons beyond sleep.
His playground
His playground? The vast open spaces and truly dark skies of the Northern Alps, the Jura, the Western Pyrenees, and the rock formations and forests of Fontainebleau.
And because a great adventure is even better when shared, Stephen also co-created the getaway "Rendez-vous en ciel inconnu" in the Jura with Captain Rémi. A journey where you hike by day, where you marvel at the night sky, and where you realize that between a Jura ridge and the Milky Way, there's sometimes nothing but a quiet bivouac.
Astronomy
Read the sky, identify constellations, and rediscover the night in a whole new way.
Bivouac
Set up under the stars, wait for nightfall, and let the sky become the most beautiful ceiling.
Hiking
Walk by day, take in the landscape, then look up when the light fades.
His itinerary
An adventure combining hiking, bivouac, and stargazing, to learn how to contemplate the night sky differently.
Look up, slow down a little, and put some stars back in our nights.
