Alpine meadows, forests, ridges and wild coastlines: outdoor France by Captains Hunawé.

Outdoor guide France by Hunawé

Hunawé is a collective of outdoor guides — our Captains — who design and lead micro-adventures in nature across France and Europe. Hiking, trekking, bivouacking, trail running, climbing, sailing, kayaking, snowshoeing, ski touring: every outing is designed for small groups, accessible by low-carbon train travel, and with total respect for the environments we pass through, following the "leave no trace" principle.

Our territories span from the Alps to the Pyrenees, from the Jura to Brittany, from the Cévennes to Fontainebleau. They share a wild, slow, living France — one of alpine meadows, beech forests, gorges, windswept ridges and pebble beaches. A France you reach by train and explore on foot, by paddle or on skis.

On the organisational side, our adventures last from two days (weekend) to ten days (full itinerary). Each Captain knows their massif inside and out: real conditions, access points, trusted refuges, water sources, shepherd's lodges. We adapt every programme to the group's level, from forest initiation in Fontainebleau to crampon passages in the Écrins. Technical equipment can be provided on request.
