A global collective of local travel agencies

Nomadays is a global collective of English-speaking local agencies, spread across more than 100 destinations. Everything you need to know about France

Our local experts share their knowledge to prepare your trip.

When to go for a micro-adventure in France?

In France, each mountain range has its season. Summer opens up high altitude routes and long traverses; autumn brings the rutting season and golden light; winter is for snowshoeing, ski touring, pulka sledding and starry nights; spring awakens forests and rivers. Most of our micro-adventures take place over a weekend or a few days, accessible by train from major cities — no need to take a week off to come back with memories to last a lifetime. Our Captains time each departure to the best weather window and crowd levels.

What budget should you plan for a micro-adventure?

A Hunawé micro-adventure is budget-friendly: expect €150 to €600 generally for a weekend or a few days, with guidance, accommodation (camping, mountain hut, guesthouse) and shared equipment included. Most of our trips depart in small groups on set dates, with guaranteed departures: you'll join other nature enthusiasts without having to put together your own group. Tailor-made options are available if you're already a constituted group (family, friends, corporate team). We travel close by, accessible by train, spend wisely, and truly enjoy ourselves.

Why travel with a local collective instead of a traditional tour operator?

Traveling with Hunawé means traveling with a collective of guides who live outdoors year-round. Not a platform designed between meetings: Captains who know their mountains, their seasons, their light, and the quiet trails you won't find in guidebooks. In small groups, supervised, low-carbon: you learn as much as you explore, and you share the adventure with people who love hiking, unplugging, and wild camping as much as you do. A true tribal spirit, just around the corner.

What nature adventures should you prioritize in France?

France is a playground of remarkable richness, easily accessible by train. From the ridges of the Écrins to the cliffs of Normandy, from the forests of the Jura and Vosges to the ponds of Brocéliande, from the wild Pyrenees to the boulders of Fontainebleau: each region has a story to tell. On the practical side: hiking and multi-day treks, wild camping and nights under the stars, snowshoeing and ski touring in winter, climbing and mountaineering, sailing and whitewater sports, wildlife watching (stag rutting, lynx) or simple weekends to slow down. No need to go far to live big.
