Day-by-day itinerary

Taking off from ground level!

Taking off from ground level!

We have an appointment at 11:00 at Die train station (26) (departure 7:13 from Paris Gare de Lyon for those from the Île-de-France region) to meet Captain Sylvain and the rest of the team.

From the station, a few minutes of transport allow us to drop off our belongings at the family home in Chamaloc, a small village at the foot of Vercors. We settle into the rooms and have a quick bite to eat.

We then head towards the Saut de la Drôme site at Claps (30 min shuttle). After a presentation of the equipment, we set off for an initiation / refresher "multi-pitch climbing" session on a very accessible rock face in difficulty level, of 250 m. We descend from the cliff by a small hiking path, avoiding rappels.

And to finish the afternoon beautifully, roped climbing on the famous boulders of Claps and/or swimming in the pools of the small canyon into which the Drôme rushes.

Return to the house with a meal prepared together based on organic and local products (the organic goat cheeses are produced 100 m from the house!) and a free evening together.

NB: Choice and level of routes can be modified (upwards) depending on the level of participants

Gas on every floor...

After a well-deserved night's rest and a good breakfast with homemade products, we set off for Chironne cliff, a rocky bastion 120 m high that blocks access to the Vercors High Plateaus at the Rousset pass and located 20 minutes from the house.

There, on short routes of one to two pitches, we learn or review rope handling and minimum rescue techniques needed for big wall climbing to be able to progress independently and safely.

After a picnic break, we reach the base of the main cliff in just a few minutes. We progress on one or more routes of 100 to 120m, equipped by your Captain specially for you, under the amused (hungry ?) gaze of the vultures numerous on this site. If all goes well, these charming scavengers won't have to look after us and we make it back to the ground by rappel !

Recovered from our emotions, we head back. At Chamaloc, swimming enthusiasts will be able to splash around in the rock pools and waterfalls of the Comane river.

A good hot shower, a meal prepared and eaten together and a friendly evening await us afterwards !

NB: Choice and level of routes can be adjusted (upwards) depending on the level of participants

Do you want more?

After a second restorative night and a good breakfast with homemade products, we collectively decide, based on the group's level and energy, on the day's program.

Choose from:
- One or more final big routes in one of the many sites located less than 40 minutes from the house and with reasonable approach walks (Rocher de Chironne, Falaise de Valcroissant, Aiguilles de Bénevise, Gorges des Gâts, etc;). Archiane, le Glandasse, les 3 Becs or Omblèze – 4 mythical cliffs of the Diois and of very large scale - will be for another stay!
- A climbing session on a "couenne" site (40 m maximum): Romeyer, le Claps or Valcroissant.
Once the option is decided, we head to our objective which will take us the whole day.

Arms pumped with lactic acid, memories, new skills and plans filling our heads, we head to the Die SNCF station at 17h51 (arrival Gare de Paris Gare de Lyon at 21h46 for those from the Paris region)

NB: Choice and level of routes can be modified (upward) depending on the participants' level
