Wildlife Immersion in Upper Jura
11:00 AM – Bellegarde-sur-Valserine Station: group welcome, meeting with Captain Rémi and launch of the adventure. The day opens with an exploration of the emblematic sites of the Upper Jura, with a focus on wildlife. We head to the forest and combes, lynx territory, to better understand this discreet environment.
In late afternoon, heading to the yurt: warmth of the wood stove and collective installation of the camp. Depending on preferences, night in a tipi or under the stars. We then set up camera traps nearby.
At nightfall, campfire and meal cooked over the fire (grilled meats and delicacies on the menu).
After dinner, moonlit night walk to soak in the sounds and scents of the night; silence reveals itself with the echo of wind through the trees. A sensory experience to end the day.
Activity: 9km of hiking, 300m elevation gain
Footprints and Night Listening
After an invigorating breakfast, the day unfolds off the beaten path: searching for possible lynx tracks and identifying traces of other animals present in its territory. Captain Rémi, a passionate guide, shares his knowledge about this discreet animal and accompanies us in observing tracks, reading the territory and discovering the local wildlife. An immersion in wild life far from conventional itineraries.
At the end of the day, return to the base camp for a Jurassian fondue. For those who wish, a new session of listening to nocturnal sounds under moonlight allows you to sharpen your senses in the atmosphere of the night.
The lynx is not the only notable inhabitant: we also take time to learn more about the capercaillie, another emblematic species of these preserved regions.

On the Trail of the Lynx
A gentle awakening in the heart of nature. Together, we pack up the camp to close out this immersion. We then set off to retrieve the camera traps, eager to discover which nocturnal visitors have roamed nearby - perhaps with tracks left by local wildlife.
Exploration continues toward more remote areas, offering new vistas of the Jura mountains. Always in search of footprints, each step brings us closer to the wild world.
Along the way, a picnic break for a tasty moment in this pristine environment.
5:30 PM: end of the journey and return to Bellegarde-sur-Valserine station.

Registration is considered firm and final after payment of a deposit of 30% of the total price and acceptance of the specific terms of sale.
The balance must be paid no later than 45 days before the departure date.
